Be sure to read the reviews of how others have installed theirs; I struggled with mine and figured it out myself, but it took a while. (Then I read the other reviews and could have saved me about an hour just doing my research.) My nose was broken so getting the tiny piece out was a hassle. I ended up digging it up with a dental tool. As for the sock, I tried working on one of these but it was too tight and got stuck after about a quarter of an inch. Then I remembered when I had to put on other gummy stuff (not what you're thinking, but yeah, same concept) and the soapy grease did the trick. I didn't soak that much because I didn't want it to run out from time to time so I used very little and very hot water to make the socks more flexible. Once I got one end tightened, it was just a matter of simultaneously pushing and twisting to position the sock. My glasses look like new.
