Energy Efficient LED Insect Repellent Light

In Alabama, in the southeastern United States, where I live, spring and fall are big, ugly brown June bugs that are attracted to the light. At night they fly around the fires, and in the morning several dead people lie on the ground. You'll be much less attracted to those yellow-orange lights. After installing these lanterns, I saw almost no cockchafers around the lanterns - I saw very few small moths, but nothing special. And because LEDs are tuned to this wavelength of light, they are energy efficient. While the color isn't overly attractive to my eyes, it's not bad by any means. Be sure to make enough light outside. The color is definitely worth avoiding those unfortunate June bugs. They're a bit pricey but I think they're worth it.

Pros
  • A proven spectrum of amber light that is invisible to most flying insects and comfortable to humans. The same time-honored technology used in cabin and exterior lighting for decades. DON'T LOVE THE YELLOW LIGHTS. Yellow colored lightbulbs hide their defective blue diodes, while non-Edison lightbulbs are yellow from the diode source and require NO ugly coating and only give people the impression of being yellow.
Cons
  • Available in white only
