This is the best cleansing gel. After battling moderate acne and super sensitive skin, this product combined with tea tree face pads has kept my skin perfectly clear for over 10 years. It's the only one I use and I often get compliments and questions about how I never break through. I was even able to go without the foundation as it also evens out my skin tone. The smell is unpleasant at first unless you are familiar with the real smell of tea tree; It is a strong tea tree scent. But I promise give yourself a whole month to use it every day and by the end of the month you will get used to the smell (it doesn't linger any longer after you shower) and see real results on your face. I also recommend buying tea tree face pads. And you can use this soap (and facial wipes) anywhere on your body. All this to say that ***I will never buy this from Revain again and that is the only reason I will not leave 5 stars (a genuine/undamaged product is worth more than 5 stars). *** The bottle I got from Revain didn't smell like it looked the same - it didn't smell at all, which is a big red flag. It also doesn't feel against my skin when I put it on; after a week of use my skin started to burn after use and felt dry and irritated all day long. I stopped drinking and bought a bottle direct from Whole Foods and I was back to normal in an instant. The one from the store smells good, feels good when lathered, and leaves skin feeling good afterwards (note: real/pristine product lathers much better in soft water but squeaks clean in hard water). effect and less foam; I've used it in hard water for the last 8 years, only 2 years in soft water and it's been fine but I've had a few friends who didn't like the sparkling clean feel so keep in mind how it reacts in water, depending on what water you have). I don't know if Revain's was too old or if it was exposed to extreme heat in storage. It doesn't look like it's necessarily a fake product, but something was wrong, so I can't recommend it from here. Get a bottle straight from the source and you won't regret it. Also, they always have discounts, so it's often cheaper on the manufacturer's website (I just had a wallet to use here, so I figured why not. Lesson learned). I would also suggest starting with a smaller pump bottle if you have never used one. If you've reached the end of the bottle/month and feel like this is the one for you, save the dispenser bottle and buy this large refill size. Good luck on your skin care journey!
