So this cat weighs about 5 or 6 pounds (less than a year old). The comb and my hand are there for size comparison. My 15lb cat usually sleeps here and is very comfortable. I don't think it's suede. This is NOT suede. As seen in the photos, it's more of a short faux fur - just as silky, but a little fluffier. This is not a thick, supportive bed, but it is very soft and comfortable. It works well on well-cushioned carpets, but not well on hard floors - it's all stuffed with "filler" and loosely padded - there's no flat foam underneath. For that reason it's not that useful for me, but cats like it on a thick carpet or when I put it on a thick piece of foam or a pillow.
