Review on 🧱 Melissa & Doug Building Blocks Set - 100 Wooden Blocks in 4 Vibrant Colors and 9 Diverse Shapes by Mark Bullock

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor quality and potentially dangerous

I ended up buying three different brands of pads from Revain and Melissa & Dougs was the worst of the three. I've had good luck with them in the past so I bought them without reading the reviews. As soon as the best blocks appeared, my baby immediately stopped using them, even though I mixed them up with her other blocks. However, she generously invites her father to play with them. Great. Let me repeat that again: my 2 year old realized these blocks were poor quality and rejected them. I'm glad she did because they could have hurt her. Split into two blocks of 100. We're lucky they both split somewhere down the middle, rather than forming jagged splinters or splinters like some other reviewers did. Most reviews are positive, so this should be rare. However, in a toy for small children, it is RARE that it is not enough to turn into fragments in the form of a knife or a needle. Based on that, I'm rating these 1 star, a humiliation reserved for truly defective products. If it wasn't for that I would have rated this 2 or maybe 3 stars. They really wanted the production to be affordable. And you. They are cheap in every way. The blocks are almost unpolished and still have some wood defects, mostly cavities or wood structure. They tried to cover it with one of the most boring, ugly colors I've ever seen. The color looks and feels chalky and the colors are not very bright. Both competing brands are given a good sanding and then finished off with an attractive high gloss finish. While only slightly smaller than the other 100 piece sets, they are much more difficult to stack. I think this is mainly because they are so light and some of the blocks (mostly the longer ones) are noticeably warped. Melissa and Doug are damaging their brand with such a poor quality product.
