I've been wearing Merrell shoes for over 10 years as they are one of the few brands that come in plus sizes (14). I wanted a pair of shoes that could be worn indoors like slippers, but could also be worn outdoors for a short outing. These seemed to foot the bill. They look great, are very light and true to size. However, as others have noted, the sole is very slippery on wooden floors. It's a synthetic material but not felt. They are good on carpet. However, the deal killer for me was the ridiculous material used on the inside to secure the seams. This material rubs against the heel and is very annoying. It could be easily covered with fabric during production. If you wear socks, which I didn't intend to do, you can, but for barefoot - forget it. I don't think Merrell tests his shoes like he used to. I've had a couple of shoes from them recently that seem inferior compared to previous products. I hope they rework this shoe to fix these shortcomings. Unfortunately I will be sending them back.
