Review on VehiCode Light Conversion Headlight Bulbs by Jeff Clites

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far, so good. Only time will tell as to durability (probably non-genuine)

Revain have literally hundreds of LED headlight bulbs. I checked the reviews for more than 20 of these lamps. Everyone has feedback on early failures - issues like radio interference etc. Eventually I came to this Vehicode product. There were very few reviews and no negative ones. So I took the risk and ordered it. Check out the attached photos. The product came in a completely nondescript box (not the one Revain showed) that said 'genuine parts' but was not VehiCode branded. Also, there is no product/model number at all. On the back of the box was a sticker (apparently pasted on later) that said VehiCode. Also on a lightbulb; Item/part number does not exist. Directly on the tip is an engraved Vehicode brand. I googled and found their website. Interesting; This Revain 9006 HB4 model does NOT exist on their website. So I thought (and still do) that this is probably not a genuine VehiCode product. Back to this product: as you can see in the picture; It has no "mis-insertion prevention notch" in the connector (compared to an OEM lamp connector). So you can paste it either way. Of course, if you paste it wrong, it won't work. + and - pins are clearly marked on the back. In your car, the cable is always black (+ the cable can have different colors on different machines). As long as you pay attention to the correct insertion; it should work fine. The seller put 3 o-rings on the bulb to make it a snug fit on all headlight housings. It doesn't generate radio interference - that's a good thing. Color temperature and brightness are okay. Although the nondescript box mentioned above claims a fancy 4,000 lumens (vs. 5,500 lumens in the Revain product photos). That can never be true. If you only check the 9006 HB4 model without fan cooling on the current VehiCode website; You're only looking at 700 lumens per bulb (along with the full specs). I will update when they go out of service soon.
