This works without programming. The only difference is that instead of pointing the remote directly at the TV, you can aim it at the top of the TV. Hold the remote control so that it is tilted about 20° towards the end of the work. Your remote control may not need this position, but it will work properly just in case. This is good because it lets you see the buttons on the remote control.
