Glad I spent the extra money on a more powerful unit. I first bought a few small devices to test out the dehumidifier concept and was surprised at how much water they pull from the air. So I switched to a device that would do most of my house work. It's Texas and my thermostat reads 67% humidity. My HVAC guy told me to keep the temp below 50C to avoid mold. He advised me to keep the house at 72 in the summer. I can't afford to have the AC on all the time and anything under 78 is just damn cold. Please note that my house is only about 500 meters away. But instead I went by the number of pints. When I'm at home I put it on the floor between the kitchen and the living room. It is on wheels and slides easily. The 4.5 liter container was filled in less than a day. It turns off and beeps when full. The container slides out easily; Pull it out from below. It has an extendable handle so you can carry it to the sink (or outside) to empty it. While I was away, I installed the dehumidifier on a moveable island near the kitchen counter. (Be sure to block the wheels with something to keep them from rolling off the stand.) Connecting the hose to the unit (included) was easy. I had to weigh down the other end of the hose (see photo). We tested it a few days later and my house thermostat showed 49% humidity. (Device display showed 40%). I didn't lower the air conditioner temperature and we had hot, humid and rainy days. This humidifier is what matters. Don't wait until you see mold. Buying this device is much cheaper than dealing with mold removal. I hope they release a smart model that I can control from my phone. It would be nice to turn it off sometimes and let it rest. Now he works around the clock. I also recommend wheel locks. A highly recommended product.
