Review on Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 Bluetooth Earbuds - White - Retail Packaging for Enhanced Wireless Stereo Experience by Tay Cassanova

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Top notch BT headphones - if you're looking for a bluetooth workout solution and you've got a huge sweater, read this.

Fantastic bluetooth headphone set, especially for working out. They sound fantastic, are very light and have a lot of nice features. Be sure to try all three sets of ear tips to make sure you get a good fit. This makes a big difference in how the bass is perceived and how well it blocks out outside noise. **** Read if you sweat a lot around your head when you exercise **** I sweat a lot when I exercise. I mean a lot! I've Killed Three Other Bluetooth Headphones That Claimed To Be Sweatproof. In all three cases, sweat seeped into the electronics and the buttons became unresponsive. After a while I couldn't turn them on anymore and they were junk. The Backbeat Go 2 also claims to be sweat resistant, but I mostly believe their claims. The only thing that gives us a little pause is that there's a small rubber door at the top of the right earcup that opens to reveal a mini-USB charging port. They made the door out of rubber and it's airtight, but it still seems like a possible entry point for sweat. However, this is easily fixed with Glad Press N Seal. Press N Seal is similar to Saran Wrap (the clear plastic wrap you use to seal food containers), but it's translucent instead of transparent and has a sticky texture but no glue. It wraps things like aluminum foil very tightly. For these earbuds, I would recommend taking a piece of this foil, peeling off the earbuds and stabilizers, and wrapping a 1" x 2" piece around each earbud to hide tears and the USB flap. (Obviously, don't block the opening where the sound exits the eartip.) Then put the earcups and stabilizers back in place and they're almost guaranteed to be sweatproof. If you want to be extra safe, you can also wrap a string around the remote control. Every time you connect it to charge, you have to remove and reattach the film on the right side. I thought it would be a pain but like I said I've tried three headsets and I'm sick of paying for electronics that end up being crap. If your head sweats a lot and you use them for exercise I would recommend this.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
