If you have a 5.1, 5.2, 7.1, 7.2 speaker system where some speakers are connected to a control panel or subwoofer, you know that the spacing between them Components on 15 - contact cable that comes with the system. You may also know that using a 15-pin VGA cable can damage your speakers since this cable does not have pass-through wiring for each pin. I didn't experience this, but my speaker reviewers warned of what would happen if I tried to use this cable (two speakers exploded). So I had to find a straight wired 15 pin cable and this suited my needs, not perfect but functional. On arrival I checked with an ohmmeter that each pin was connected as advertised; you were During installation I had to do what the other reviewer did which was cut off the nuts on the female end with a dremel tool. There were no bolts on that end, so I couldn't screw them onto my subwoofer (minor inconvenience). I used these cut off screws on the connector end to connect the female end of my system cable after cutting off about 1/4 inch of the screw studs. None of this deserves a rejection. However, I would advise the manufacturer to swap out this type of connector for a true 15 pin extension cord so that the cord connectors are screwed tight, the studs are on the female side and the nuts are on the male side.
