I often try to see if I can buy children's sized shoes to save money, especially more expensive shoes. I've wanted a Chaco for a very long time (an RPCV here, and if you know the Peace Corps it was the most durable shoe) but couldn't justify the high price. I did fine without it, but gave up this year because 1) I'm looking for durable sandals (so more eco-friendly! I've had too many broken $10 pairs to count) and 2) it's way cheaper than women's shoes and 3) To be perfectly honest, I've always craved them, but I just couldn't get over the high price tag for sandals. I bought the 5.5 first for fear the 5 would be too small as I am a 7.5 female. I would say I'm a real 7.5 US / 37 EU / 4.5 UK. Had to return it and got a big kids 5. It fits perfectly. It's a lot softer and more flexible than the adult Chaco, which is a plus (more comfort)/minus (in the sense that it might not be as durable), but overall I'd highly recommend it.
