Great for storing shaving soap in a convenient package. The screw mechanism is not strong and may break if handled carelessly or roughly. I put two different store bought shaving sticks in (Arko and Palmolive) and they work great. I also put a shaving soap disk in one after rubbing it to make it easier to insert. It works fine too. They are very comfortable when traveling, the strap fits me for everyday use. It foams very well on the face. A bit messier for lathering the bowl as loading the brush can be messy. (Reverse loading works best.) I wouldn't recommend liquid liquids or creams as they don't seal the base tightly. I recommend containers if you exercise reasonable care and recognize their limitations.
