GREAT-METAL-LINKS HELD SPIKES IN PLACE DURING 100s OF HIKES IN SNOW, ICE, MUD 2017/18. .DURING SUMMER 2018, I stored boots with cleats STRETCHED TIGHTLY Over boots & rubber straps FATIGUED AND SNAPPED. So I recommend removing cleats/straps during long storage . However, metal-work underneath held up so well that I bought another pair, January 2019 & they are working perfectly. very good product. (December 2018, I bought a pair of look-alike cleats, but their metal links separated after 2 or 3 hikes, & I had to return them) Neither of my Vinqliq brand cleats have ever had their chain-links, or cleats, bend or separate. excellent quality-metal. thank you, terry.
