I have been using quality down products for about fifty years because I am a winter boy whose southern home is north of the White Mountains in New Hampshire and north is home in the extreme north of Canada. I'm a winter mountaineer, winter hiker, snowshoe, skier, etc. Over the last ten years as I've gotten older I've bought serious high end ultra light gear and lost 800-900 pounds. The old way of handling down was to wash it as little as possible, dirt and spilled food stains be damned. But my favorite things about Rab, Montbell and western climbing were beginning to confuse even me. So I bought this DownWash - couldn't be more impressed. I apply a little of this cleaner directly to the most stubborn stains before I put things in the washing machine. The balls seem to help in the dryer as each of my washed items is clump free and the lint is kicked back to fill every divider. All my down items look almost new. Got under a light rain yesterday, the drops were rolling down so the water resistance seemed to have been restored too. Highly recommended.
