I bought a cheaper scratch mat before buying this one and you get what you pay for. it reeked of something poisonous and poisonous. This one says it has a slight odor that dissipates quickly and it made me a little wary of buying it but I'm glad I did! I find this statement very true; The smell wasn't bad and it dissipated quickly so it wasn't a problem. This rug is a good size and my cats love it and use it every day. It also seems quite durable. I am very happy with this purchase. Don't waste your money on small, poorly made, toxic, smelly products, your cats cost good quality and are cheaper in the long run because others may be a waste of money (like the ones I bought first). This one is worth it! The quality is great, the size is great and the price is reasonable. One note: I read in some reviews that there was a color mismatch in the fairing. Some with a white border, some with a black border. I'm not sure where it said what color I was supposed to get (I was under the impression the trim was going to be white) but mine was black (I prefer it anyway as it suits our design). You can ask the seller what trim color you will receive before you buy (if the color is important to you).
