After losing my near vision due to cataract surgery I bought one of these loupes and found that they helped me read fine print shops and theaters. I also use it to enhance small details in home projects. A small round macro loupe is good for very small details. The magnifying glass is small and light. It fits easily in a purse or pocket, but as other reviewers point out, it's too thick for a wallet. The magnifying glass isn't big enough to read books, but I wasn't expecting that. Light is surprisingly good. Light turns on and off - no need to hold down the button to keep the light on. I didn't realize the importance of light until I tried it. The case is a lightweight protective case; This prevents scratches, but probably doesn't help much if you drop the magnifying glass. In general I am very satisfied.
