Cramp Alert. When you turn on or turn on the light, it will default to intermittent and blinding light flicker mode. Most modes (5?) are painful to watch and rather blind to the eyes. I have no problem with head injury lighting and I felt like they would fry my brain if given the chance. The remote control is mediocre, I just push the button on the box on the power cord when I go to turn on the light. This allows me to switch to an acceptable mode without blinding myself. Other than that, the three modes are great and create a great atmosphere: Hard switching between B+G and R+Y; slow appearance and disappearance between B+G and R+Y; All four lights are on all the time. My roommates and I use Slow Fade to light up our basement when we watch TV at night. It's calming and pleasant.
