My wife needed a page folder that doubled as a TV stand and filing cabinet. She wanted the dark wood finish to match the other pieces in the office. We looked at various options at local stationery stores, but the only choices were really cheap and flimsy Sauder brand furniture, or an expensive, very utilitarian looking metal filing cabinet. We've seen several other styles of Bush furniture and I've had a pretty solid one in the past, so I took a chance and ordered it online. As there were no other reviews I didn't know what to expect. The package arrived earlier than expected and was well wrapped with extra cardboard around the corners to prevent damage. In fact, not a single part was damaged or scratched. The package weighs over 80 pounds and requires two people to move. The instructions are well illustrated and clearly written. The parts to be marked were clearly marked. All fasteners came in branded bags. This item would have received 5 stars without a few points: 1. The pre-drilled holes were not drilled cleanly and the screw holes were not deep enough, which caused some alignment issues during assembly. Some of the pre-drilled holes were too big and the screws wouldn't hold. For some parts I had to use my own screws and drill new holes to ensure a solid connection.2. The fittings, with the exception of the drawer slides, were crap. The RTA's cam locks didn't fully engage, so I couldn't tell if I rotated the cam far enough. The little screws that fastened almost everything from drawer slides to binder slides were junk. I don't have a lot of forearm strength, but the screw heads kept spinning. Maybe it was because the holes weren't deep enough, but even when they were, the heads still popped out. Now I'm worried that the drawer slides might fall off.3. Because the holes weren't drilled correctly, the vinyl laminate crumpled when screws were inserted and the pieces didn't fit together properly. There will be a significant gap between parts.4. Drawer handles look like metal, but they're actually chrome-plated plastic. Very cheap feel. The clothes rails are all made of plastic. Also very cheap. Not sure if they support full file folder upload5. The safety mechanism that prevents both drawers from being opened at the same time (to prevent tipping) doesn't work very smoothly. I used to have Bush furniture, which was much better. For the price I expect more and would like more metal components and better hardware. The instructions say the drawers hold 60 pounds each and the top holds 200 pounds. The finish looks nice and the edges look solid enough, but we'll see. In general everything is fine.
