Review on ๐Ÿ“ž Enhanced Communication: Grandstream DP750 DECT VoIP Base Station (Black) by Karen Parker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I bought 5. They all fly out regularly.

I have had 5 DP750s in 5 different restaurants with 3 handsets for about 2 months now. If I could I would send them back, but unfortunately I've spent too much time getting them to work and it's too late to send them back. The price is definitely a big plus. About $50 for the base unit and $50 for each phone. Buy what you need, when you need it. The range of functions seems to be simple. For example, you can't turn off missed call notifications or lock your phone settings. For the price, I'm happy to accept that. I had no issues with the sound quality or build quality. Everything is OK. There were constant crashing and STAYING crashing issues. I could occasionally crash when a watchdog service restarted the device. Instead, the DP750 crashes, no more calls come in, and an hour or three later the restaurant calls and asks what's going on. That means orders are missed and money is lost. In the end it doesn't matter how good or cheap or whatever as long as it doesn't work reliably. But they are not. Too bad I couldn't get a refund and could buy another brand. My first and last Grandstream adventure. I would not risk buying this brand again. Update: a year later. We have started replacing them with Yealink โ€“ W60P โ€“ Dect Base and Handset Package. I used smart plugs to reset them every morning. This reduced the number of disruptions during working hours to one or two per month. Hooray. crash anyway. Grandstream doesn't seem to care. What worries me is that there are no other problems. And for about $50 a tube to replace them when they were swimming in the sauce, the sink, or the laundry bucket (seriously, they did) was tolerable. Ringtones could be better and louder. I still wish we could disable missed calls and lock settings. But the basic functions and quality were ok except for the crashes. I don't understand why Grandstream never talked about it. But I can say with confidence that I will never buy this brand again. At least not their cheaper devices. I've been told that expensive things are great. Unless it's going in sauce, I want cheap stuff. It works out.
