I actually work with RVs a lot. An air conditioner was installed in this opening for the bedroom. I decided to take this unit out and just install a fan for circulation since factory air conditioners use a lot of electricity. It's also great for replacing an existing fan. Installation was very easy after removing the air conditioner. unit revolution. I had to run a cable through the ceiling. If you simply replace the existing fan, the power is of course already there. Then all that remains is to remove the old Dicor seal from the old roof fan. The fan falls right into the hole. Clean the roof very well and use butyl tape or putty between the new block and the roof before bolting it on. Insert the screws and seal them with Dicor, being careful not to cover the rain sensor. Then go in, connect the two wires and install the inner "lid" or bezel and that's it. The fan has some really nice features. Remote control. The power button opens or closes the lid. It has 4 speeds in both directions. Yes that's right, you can run this fan backwards to blow into or out of the room. Works great in the bedroom, acts as a ceiling fan. It's loud at maximum fan speed, but blows a lot of air at speeds 2 and 3. There is also a timer function that allows you to choose from 1 to 4 hours, 1 to 1 hour, 2 to 2 hours, etc. After the time has elapsed, it turns off and closes the lid. Rain sensor, closes when it rains. There's a button on the fan and remote to bypass this if you want to open it up in the rain. The top cover is a dark smoke color but is translucent so you can see through it when closed. There is a soft rubber seal so the lid fits snugly to the main body when closed, potentially eliminating the need for another 'lid' over the fan. The fan itself has all the buttons to control it as the remote control disappears. Inside is a detachable screen. It's easy to clean. The reason for my 4 star rating is that the inner bezel is too short as shown in the photos. I may have missed an option when ordering, but be careful. What I like most is the ability to run this fan backwards. Blow air into a room, don't always suck it out. The other two fans in our van don't have that option, and I'm not sure if some other famous fans do. I think this is a pretty good device.
