Review on SoundMAGIC Noise Isolating Earphones Wired In-Ear Earbuds Powerful Bass HiFi Stereo Sport Headphones (E11 by Alan Pfeiffer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great sound for its price. A bit bright. Weak cable.

Disclaimer: I can only describe what I hear in the headphones I received based on my "reference recordings". and sound engineering. Your experience may vary. I strongly agree with the reviews criticizing the bass in the SoundMagic E11C headphones. Luckily, the standard silicone tips fit my ear well, and I make sure they're snug in the canals by tugging on the lower earlobes and pushing them slightly from the side. very pleasant bass in the lowest range, be it acoustic, percussive or electric. But if you don't get a good acoustic seal, the bass will be anemic. I had to put them up myself as I had misplaced them a bit. Out of the box they were too bright, but incredibly accurate in instrumental nuances. I heard clarinet pads clicking at Mozart's concert (Academy for Early Music). I've never noticed that! To be fair, I'm more used to my Grado SR60i over-ear phones - there's bound to be a different sound in the ear, and that could unduly affect my score. Even after a few hours of breaking in, I think they're still a bit good, but overall they're surprisingly balanced, especially for a solo rider. They are quite dynamic, with sharp percussion and musical immediacy of delivery. I'm 65 years old so young ears may find better sound quality in the high frequencies than I did after a full break-in period. If the vocals are too sizzling, you will hear it. I used the direct variable output from my old Sony 707ESD CD player (I told you I was old!). I didn't use the mic and tone controls: . SoundMagic should trade this in exchange for a heavier-duty audiophile-grade cable that's about six inches longer than the current length. However, the answer is YES. I would buy them again.
