The quality is good, the kit does not contain everything you need to assemble.
This stool came without the mounting hardware that the instructions say should be in the box. Once we had everything we needed to put it together it was pretty easy. It's definitely disappointing to open it up and find that it's not what you need in a build. In general, the stool is of high quality and very comfortable.
