I bought these to help my daughter park for her driving test. We'll practice in a marked parking lot, but placing on the lines on each side increases their concentration and is good practice for avoiding the real cars. She hasn't met anyone yet. They open and close fairly easily, although my 15 year old daughter suggests they could be easier. I'm not sure how many times you might have run them over, but until then they should stay fine for future practice and also improve visibility when disabled at the side of the road. I first looked for the larger version but went for it because the base is smaller and easier to pack in the trunk of our Nissan Rogue.
