There is a strange smell when you first open the packaging, but it goes away fairly quickly. It's not very roomy, but I can fit a lot more in than I thought it would. If you don't want to use them crossbody style, you won't be happy. If you just throw it over your shoulder, it's not up to you and sort of flops. I am very happy with this purchase and can't wait for warmer weather to use it!
