Review on Uni Fi Floorstanding Speaker Finished Cabinet by Alisha Powell

I heard all the hype about these speakers and decided to buy them not knowing what to expect. I assumed they would be great based on all the reviews I saw and read. I was in the tower market to replace a set of B&W 602 S3 bookshelf speakers that I liked, but felt like it was time for something new, having owned these speakers for about a decade. I was very satisfied with ELAC. B&W were great, but ELAC sounded richer and more detailed. The B&Ws are a very large collection of bookshelf speakers and compared to the ELACs they produce a pleasant but "booming" sound. I originally used a Marantz 2-channel integrated amp which powered these towers well, which is great because I was concerned about not having enough power. I recently switched to separate Emotiva components which really brought these speakers to life! You can probably drive them into a decent receiver, but you'll notice a world of difference if you use them with a higher level amp since they have 4 ohm speakers. By the way, they look stunning in a slim case with a matte finish!
