I've been using the Commuter series on my phones for a while now, I haven't had any problems with it and have dropped my phone so many times it has kept the cost of my phones high for resale because they always look like new after 2 years. My fiancee has always used a clear Otterbox case on the same phones, she doesn't drop them as often as I do and she keeps getting slow. The most interesting thing is that I work in aircraft maintenance/manufacturing, so mine usually works with harder materials like concrete, she works in a carpeted office. It might just be that I'm better at electronics lol.
