I bought this soft crate for my Keeshond puppy so we could have a crate for vacation trips and not have to carry around her heavy 36 inch wire crate. For this purpose it worked great. We even used it at a dog show earlier this month and it was great to have something I could fold up and easily carry around. I live in New York and took this cage on the subway, put it in a cab and on the subway, no problem Durability: My biggest issue with buying this (or any other soft crate) is that my pup Luckily she seems to have little interest in it (although she occasionally nibbles on her wire box). When I've seen her scratching/digging there or chewing something, the box seems to be holding up well (no wear or real signs of wear). The material feels durable and appears to be able to withstand a bit of dog chewing/scratching. The straps and handles are great too. The fleece lining is ok, it's soft to keep my pup off the ground but doesn't offer any support for the pot liner - my pup doesn't seem to care. Usage: This cage is great for travel, especially if I have to lug the crate around with me for a while (I live in New York for example and usually take the crate up and down stairs on the subway or metro S- Bahn Nord - if I only lived on the outskirts and had my car parked in the driveway, I would just pack a heavy wire box). It folds down to a size 1 long board, but I wish it was smaller when folded. It would be great if this drawer could fold down to the size of a smaller drawer top, which I think could be accomplished by separating the bottom bars in the same way as the top ones. The little bowl on the side is nice but mostly useless as I really need the bowl in the drawer. Ease of use: When I first installed this box, it was a little pathetic. The top bars need to be aligned and connected. This requires you to pull the sleeve back and physically squeeze the halves together. I found it quite difficult the first time, even though I'm a fairly healthy person. However, it gets easier each time the bushing and rods wear a little. Value for money: For the price, this box meets all my needs and then some. I was expecting to have a crate to use during the holidays at my parents house, basically just for my puppy to sleep in or be supervised. I expect this box will have more uses now that I know how durable and comfortable it is. My puppy is training to compete in agility so we have to take him to various competitions and events where we need a cage. She was more than happy to sit in her padded box while I was away to get some stuff done at an event recently, so I plan to use her for any event where I don't need a wire or hard case. My reasons for giving 4 stars instead of 5: - The drawer could be designed to fold even smaller which would be ideal if the dog keeps trying to eat it. The bowl is useless as it is on the outside of the box.
