This is a beautifully crafted everyday backpack. I really like its style and the materials are clearly high quality, very durable and carefully crafted. It seems that given the materials it will be quite rainproof. However, a few things keep this bag from becoming my new favorite bag. Firstly, there is no zipper in the top/main compartment to put all your belongings. I wanted to take it with me on several trips where I had both small and valuable items, like my pen from my Surface tablet. I also noticed that while the upper appears to be very water resistant, I had a hard time compressing it perfectly on the inside, making sure no water would seep in. A zipper would be very nice. Second the style Placed diagonally is the small chest strap that holds the two shoulder straps together when carrying it as a backpack for a while. It doesn't look intentional, but I'm pretty sure it is. It looks like my backpack moved at an odd angle. It only adds to my looks and the overall scruffy, poorly put together look that I never want to use a chest strap and might as well cut it. Those quibbles aside, the bag is thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished. Small pockets, just the right size and shape for the things I want to use them for, padding that keeps my back comfortable and also protects my tablet or laptop, very thorough if a bit stiff, and the style is short from the chest strap It is absolutely beautiful, very elegant and looks like a high quality everyday backpack. If you don't need a zipper in your pack and don't mind a diagonal chest strap, this is a good choice.
