This is the perfect footstool for my RV. My sofa is 23 inches from the dining area. It fits with space to spare. The upper isn't as plush as I was hoping, but I think it will soften over time. The stitching is good and the vinyl is smooth and soft. I can't tell if the board below is a very, very thin piece of wood or a very thick piece of cardboard. It is covered with paper towel. I took the photo in front of my home chair just for effect. I think the handles might be easier to use if they were on the ends. I love it and would love to use it on my long car ride this summer.
