For some reason my original review was deleted so I'm writing again to say it wasn't what I expected. Reviews have exaggerated this product. It's pretty effective, but if I had to choose again, I'd buy something else. The straps barely work so the topper keeps slipping. I'd say the "hard" side is more of a medium/soft one, especially after constant use. I could see this product being used in the guest room, but for general use I wouldn't recommend it at all. That being said, most of these reviews are good and the product isn't terrible, but be prepared for a medium/soft run. I wanted to like it but if anything it caused more pain in my legs because after almost 2 months it didn't hold up. Do what you will with this information, this is just one review of many. Much luck.
