I thought I'd get a cat seat with some sort of heating pad but it's just a thin wool coated foam pad. There is no heating function. But my cat loves it. He likes to look out the window. One minus: you need to either attach velcro to the windowsill or drill holes in the windowsill. Either way, you'll need to patch the window sill if you ever want to move it. You may need to replace or reinforce the foam padding at some point as the shelf is a trellis so it looks like a cat will lie down uncomfortably without a thick enough padding. Otherwise, it's sturdy enough for a medium-sized cat (10 pounds). Just note that some of them don't heat up when you click on the product options. I probably wouldn't have paid the price I bought it for if I realized it didn't heat up. The name is also misleading for other reasons, because it is not a hanging bed or a hammock, but a shelf.
