SLIK PRO 700DXQ AMT TRIPOD

Totally durable tripod, don't skimp! Got a 5 lb 3 oz, 23" long Celestron Regal M2 100ED Spotting Scope mounted with the sunshade extended on top. Not entirely sure you could find a better, more stable 8.1 lb tripod to carry a spotting scope with that weight. The total weight between the two. Just under 13 1/2 pounds. I've read reviews about it being heavy, actually reviews about the tripod and scope being heavy. I think "heavy" is everything in the eyes of a brewer when it matters. Read the reviews where people didn't like the round shoe mount. I'll quench your curiosity too. Once it's fixed it's safe! The pan and tilt movements are perfect , but friction on the threaded knobs is up to you. Retractable leg latches are secure. Absolutely immovable when locked. Read some testimonials from people who have had SLIK tripods for decades. Now I see w why. You don't have to tell the old Marine that twice. If you're on the fence guys, take it and get it done. He's worth his money. I don't write many reviews but this tripod lasts all day. Good weight, solid. A heavenly marriage for my spotting scope. Semper Fi!
