Ordered 32 pens only got 32 but 2 didn't work at all and 6 barely worked so 24 working pens. Order extra if you really need the full amount. Needed for classroom gifts instead of candy, but now there aren't enough of them. The newer models are much more user friendly as the power button stays on instead of having to hold the button down all the time. They are packed loosely, not individually wrapped. It doesn't look like the batteries are replaceable, so once it stops working it can be thrown away, FYI. However, it wouldn't be a bad deal if all the buttons worked. Kids just love these things!
