This dog bed is soft and fluffy and my little dogs love it. I have a similar one from another brand but it has more padding so the outer walls are higher and stronger. At first I was going to deduct a star as it's more flexible and has less padding, but then I thought it might actually be a plus for older dogs who aren't as mobile and may have trouble jumping higher or climbing in and harder Bed. Also look at my photos and you will see that my little one chose both beds and this one! The bottom of the bed has decent padding, but like the sides, it's not overly padded. The fluffy fabric covering this bed is so, so soft - truly heavenly for a dog. The bed washes well. Our adopted dog is still working on his home exercise and has peed on this bed. I put the whole bed in the washer and dryer and it came out soft and fluffy. Don't worry if you take this bed out of the washing machine - when it's wet it will look tangled and ugly, but throw it in the dryer and it will be fluffy and like new. I chose a 24 inch bed. and it's a good size for a small dog. My Chihuahua mix weighs 18 pounds and my adopted dog (leggy Jack Russell Terrier) weighs 12 pounds. The 24 inch bed is quite full when they are together although they are great for close hugs. The bed is a great size so one of them can either stretch out and hang their heads to the side or curl up in a perfect circle in the shape of a bed. hug and snooze. It is soft and fluffy but not so stuffed that it holds its shape as tightly as shown in seller's main photo. My dogs love it!
