Worked for a while - braces, splints and braces

This SI belt helped me get over the hump of a bad period with my SIJ. Revain offers many versions of the SI belt; I chose this one because it seemed to me to have the thinnest/lowest profile. If I had to wear it during the day I wanted it to be unobtrusive, especially when I was at work. This strap isn't the thick, bulky strap I was hoping for, but it wasn't overly supportive either. I'm a big man with a big butt to wrap around and this strap was long enough and very stretchy. I dare say that if you are skinny you may not be able to pull this belt tight enough to do you much good. So this belt worked for me for a week and was worn maybe half the time. Then, the last time I put it on, the Velcro end of a top strap came undone, leaving only the elastic outer layer. This meant one end wouldn't stay in place when worn (I pierced the layers with a safety pin to keep them in place throughout the day). As I was on the mend, I took the setback as a sign to off the belt and move on. So my review of this belt is mixed. Pros: Thin, light, very flexible. Cons: Too soft for strong grip, wears out too quickly. If you're going to wear an SI belt for a while, look for something that really supports you, even if you're spending more money or have to deal with a bulky, obtrusive belt.
