I bought this nightgown for post op purposes and it fits perfectly. I will say that the material is comfortable, light and very easy to put on. I'm 5ft 2in and the robe came down to my knees which was perfect for me to be able to walk freely in a walker if needed and it was easy enough for the nurses to get me dressed after the surgery to keep me covered keep. My husband also mentioned how easy it was for him to help with his recovery. We needed quick access to my torso so this was perfect. There are pockets, but as the material is so light it won't hold anything too heavy - a cellphone might weigh it down a bit, but the pockets can hold small or light items if needed. It's not the cutest thing in the world but I didn't make it look sexy, I made it comfortable and I didn't have any blemishes, but if you thought you could do it post-op then black is the way to go. It's also light enough that you can just pull it out to go to the bathroom - you don't have to open anything or take anything off, which is nice too. Easy to wash and I'm very glad I have this. If it's warm where you live, this will be comfortable, but I sweat a bit in my armpits, so you might want to look for something sleeveless if you need a little more airflow.
