Review on Liven Up Your Space with the Jellyfish Lava Lamp – 16 Color Changing Lights, Aquarium-Style Jellyfish Tank Night Light, Ideal Gift for Both Adults and Kids! by Patricia Mendoza

It takes some effort to get it right, but it's worth it.

This is one of my favorite Revain finds. It's really cool and the whole family seems to love it, even my two cats! The way the "jellyfish" (silicone I think) swim and dance is mesmerizing, and together with the slow transition of the light from one color to another, it's all wonderfully relaxing. It took a few days to get it set up and working properly. So don't give up if your setup doesn't seem perfect right away! I had to google to find out how to keep a jellyfish on the water surface. Basically, I put a drop of dish soap on my fingers and wiped the underside of each jellyfish's head. Then when you put them in (distilled) water, hold them upside down to allow the air trapped under the rim to be squeezed out, then use a stick to push them down as deeply as you can. Now your jellyfish should swim and swim! While this process helped keep my jellyfish from swimming to the top, one sank to the bottom and has stayed there for the past two weeks. I don't know why and I tried to revive it but no change. That's a bummer. Luckily there is an extra jellyfish in the box so I can exchange it. I also thought at first that there was something wrong with this lamp because I couldn't see the air bubbles rising from below like it happens in my bladder. a tube. It took me a while to realize that this is NOT a BUBBLE TUBE! You shouldn't see any air bubbles; It is believed that jellyfish swim by themselves and are not propelled by air currents. However, this lamp is not without disadvantages. For me the biggest problem is that it doesn't work well with batteries. The light kept going out erratically when I tried to start it from the batteries and sometimes the air stopped flowing. I really thought it wasn't working for me for the first few days and then I decided to try plugging it in and it worked perfectly. Of course, it only comes with a USB cable, so you need to provide your own charging box. I also wanted to use it where there is no outlet. In general, drop the idea of running this thing on battery power. It's not going to happen. Plug it in to get the full effect. And get ready for a little makeover. Even though I used distilled water, it got a little cloudy. I don't know if it's because of too many hook bolts, or because the 'dead' jellyfish break and make the water cloudy, but the first few days when the water was very clear it was a lot nicer I think , I have to clean it up and start over. By the way, when I thought I had a defective product, I contacted the seller and asked for help in troubleshooting. They were very responsive and helpful, so I recommend doing this if you're having trouble. No matter how annoying the problems with this lamp are - they really are! - for me it's worth it. This might not make it the best gift due to the work required, but I love my floating dancing jellyfish! They are beautiful and relaxing and totally worth the extra effort.
