Help me figure it out: Headphones

I have Boom 3. I like it a lot! Decided to buy a power up charging station for it so I ordered this one. Why was this device designed to be used with a USB-C cable when the Boom comes with a micro-mini connector? It just forces me to tuck another cord into an already packed travel bag. help me to understand
