The best way is to connect aluminum wire to copper wire. Expensive, but it's the best way to avoid overheating and potential fire hazards. If you're making a socket, I highly recommend making them all if there are wire nuts (purple or not). You'll need a torque wrench, around $15-20, to tighten it properly.
