Review on ASD Construction Mounting Recessed Downlight Industrial Electrical by Andre Pendergrass

This was exactly what I was looking for. I hung them from the ceiling in the basement on the drywall. Made a drywall cut for square fixings which made it a lot easier. They also provide a solid base for the fixture, as there is always concern that spring-loaded fasteners on recessed lights will crush the drywall. They prevent this and make installation much easier.
