When my grandson was about 16 months old he was very enthusiastic about batting and throwing. Really seemed to love it. Normal at this age for the development of coordination of movements. (Imagine if you could move your hand and open it and the object flies somewhere.) The bench was great and just as fun. We throw them in the basket, throw them away and throw them again. Almost as much fun as playing with boxes and turning buckets upside down.
