This device is controlled by a manual timer so it can be set to work on a daily schedule. The problem is that when working on one of the "on" schedules, the pump runs constantly. This will of course ensure that hot water is available at all faucets on the hot water line during the 'on' cycle, but the pump will not stop running until the schedule is up. Ideally it should work with a thermostat so it only works when the hot water in the line is below a set temperature, saving energy and wearing out the pump. I also noticed that the pump, which was pretty quiet at first, started making noise after a few days. For these reasons I returned the device.
