My cat didn't want to have anything to do with the thing at first, I mean she still prefers her ancient scratching post that I wanted to throw away. About a week after it was assembled and installed she started jumping on it, but only because I put her food on a tall dresser. Now she uses it often to get her food and even scratches the bars now. The chopsticks are starting to shed, I'm not thrilled that it's been less than 2 months. Let's go back and talk about the assembly, which was actually easy BUT not thanks to the instructions. The instructions told me to cut the PVC pipe with a handsaw, but what if I didn't have a handsaw handy to do this? Lucky I guess. But wait, turns out I didn't even have to cut it because the spring action allows you to push the PVC as deep as you can and just pop everything in place. It's hard for me to describe. I'm giving a break due to the low price, but overall I'm not very impressed. Did I mention it shakes and can be noisy?
