My hair is naturally black. Very very dark! I've used hicolor before and love the result. I use a level 40 developer best. Mix 2.4 ounces of developer into the tube of paint and shake well. Apply! One dose turned my naturally black hair bright red! I used two boxes. I did the dose on the first day, rinsed with COLD water, no soap! I used the conditioner after coloring, washed it off with COLD water and let it air dry. I add some argan oil to keep my hair healthy. The next day I did two cans, again 2.4 ounces of developer, with a tube of hicolor just to get the spots I had missed. Always rinse with COLD water! Warm or hot water will suck out the redness much faster! Anyone who blushes knows it fades quickly, COLD water for washing helps. A shampoo with red deposits will also help keep the color longer. I also let it dry on the second day, with some argan oil. My hair is a beautiful bright shade of red. HiColor is best for getting vivid colors without fading!
