I love this railing set! We used it on the double mattress on the floor for a couple of days while waiting to get their queen size bed, it was perfect. The tightening mechanism kept it close to the mattress and it was nice and snug. The IKEA bed fits very well between the "lip" on the side of the bed and its mattress. It's very secure and holds the weight when I squeeze it. The only problem I had was that it slipped off the slats when I put the mattress on, so I zipped it to the slats so it would stay in place when I put the mattress on. Went like clockwork. I don't need zip ties to keep it in place, but it will be easier for me to move the mattress to change sheets. You can't really make your bed with it, but I don't mind. You can also make the bed presentable.
