Review on 🎒 JanSport Hatchet Laptop Backpack Expedition - The Ultimate Laptop Backpack Solution by Chris Sharma

Love this backpack. I got this as a replacement for my 10+ year old North Face Recon backpack (which is still in great condition after years of daily use, so thanks to them in part). I just wanted to mix it with something new. What immediately drew me to this backpack was the top loading valve. The top flap, unlike traditional bags, zips open and folds down for easy access to your belongings. However, this is also a disadvantage as it is difficult to open it partially and get something out quickly, for example if you need to take out a phone, book or something else. No problem if you simply use the outside pockets. The interior has a cool blue lining with a decent number of pockets. It has a compartment for a 15" laptop, a slightly smaller compartment for an iPad, 3 smaller pockets for a phone or battery, a Caribbean pocket and a large mesh pocket (my favourite) for leisure items like cables or headphones. A lot of other backpacks have more nooks and crannies to hide things, but I like minimalism so this worked for me. My aforementioned north face has a couple of pockets that I never use 95% of the time, but that's something to keep in mind. Importantly, it had no passage for the water bladder. Big con if you want to use this for hiking. I mainly use it for work though, I only need it to carry my laptop, lunch box, Kindle, power bank, some emergency medication like Advil and some notepads and binders along with a bottle of water. That's more than enough for me, but surprisingly, after these items, it's a bit lacking in space. If you intend to use it for school or travel, consider something a little more spacious. My North Face was 31L and this one was 28L, but it looks a lot smaller due to its design. In general I like the backpack but it may not suit everyone. Also, I wish Jansport wouldn't drop some of the old colors so quickly. I've found so many great colorways that have come about over the past few years that are no longer available.
