They're great for keeping me cool (for a while) when I'm out in hot Arizona, and they also protect my skin from the sun. Unfortunately, in Arizona and a super arid climate, after 10 minutes of biking in 100 degree heat, these things are dry to the bone even if you get them wet. The only solution is to bring an extra bottle of water to pour water over them to re-soak and put them back on once dry. Face. VERY prickly, almost like wool or something, even after running it through the wash with fabric softener. Using it as a balaclava makes me feel like I have a sheet of fiberglass wrapped around my head - very itchy on the lips. Also, they're hard to breathe when you're doing something physically intense, so they're not very good for covering your mouth when you're trying to protect your lower face from the sun. However, they are quite comfortable. Works best for me as a neck gaiter and as a headband so all I need is my face with sunscreen. Overall, considering how much you get and how cheap they are, this is a pretty cool deal.
