The surface layer of the leather belt came off after just 6 weeks. The problem appears to be caused by the strap being pulled through the metal buckle. I had the same issue with a previous purchase of the same item. I thought it was a one-off material defect, but it appears to be a design/material issue. Looks great - but didn't last long. I was very careful not to abuse the second purchase but after a few weeks it started to show damage.
