Generally excellent wearing. One star off for the laundry. I took my cat to the vet with it and in fact he peed on the way. It was easy to remove the base's trim, but the inside is just a piece of styrofoam and a raw piece of wood. Luckily the urine didn't seep into the wood. If you know your cat is likely to pee, consider covering the inside with something waterproof. Urine also got on the body of the stretcher, but it was waterproof and didn't get on my car seat. It doesn't say it's machine washable but I sanitized it anyway and it was fine. The steel reinforcement cannot come out, so washing in a smaller machine can make washing difficult. I don't think I would wash it regularly as I'm afraid of the damage it could cause from exposure to water. I only plan on using it for trips to the vet once a year so it's perfect for that purpose. Also use the top entry. Difficult to contain the many swinging limbs when used from the front. If you have a very difficult cat, you may also need to open the end to get it through which the structure is made. My cat that stayed here was always trying to get through her old hard plastic box. This would cause him to scratch all of his nails. He tried to scratch it. The wearer was unharmed and gave up earlier and broke far fewer nails.
